Belma Tuzović Mujkić (BiH)

Exceptional teacher, soloist and chamber musician, Belma Tuzović – Mujkić started her guitar lessons with Slavko Olujić and swiftly won several first prizes in the young guitarist’s competitions in former Yugoslavia. After finishing secondary music education with Mila Rakanović she enrolled on the Musicology department of the Sarajevo MA. With the grant of the Austrian government she continued her guitar studies on the High School of Music and Arts in Vienna and graduated and took her Master Degree with Prof. Konrad Ragossnig. Highly estimated professor on the I and II degree schools in Sarajevo and Mostar, member of the juries and lecturer on numerous festivals, she started early a very rich performing career as a soloist and as a member of various chamber ensembles. She appeared in duos with piano, guitar, flute and cembalo and since 2000 she performs regularly with the flutist Ana Pokrklić. Also she appears in the Sarajevo Chamber Theater within the programs “Summer in the Chamber Theater” and “Prayer for Peace”, as well as with the Sarajevo String Quartet. She is particularly engaged in the project “Sarajevo – Meeting of the Cultures”, promoting cultural activities and performing within the project “Music Tells a Story”.
