Biography

Serbian guitarist Slobodan Milivojevic was born in 1980 in Knin. He graduated classical guitar with the highest grade at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in class prof. Srdjan Tosic. Having received a full scholarship from Indiana Statate University Bloomington USA, he has completed the highest-level guitar degree program in Prestigious Concert Practice, a prestigious Artist Diploma, working with professors such as Ernesto Biteti and  Nigel Nort. He completed his doctoral studies in 2015 at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, under the mentorship of prof. Srdjan Tosic. He won the first prize at the 10th Latin American Competition in 2007 and won the first prize at the Indianapolis Musicale in the same year. His debut album, From Choro to Tango was released in 2017 by the Guitarists Association of Vojvodina and features works by Latin-American composers originally written for guitar, and inspired by Latin-American popular music forms. Slobodan Milivojevic’s artistic activity includes a series of solo concerts and recitals throughout Serbia as well as abroad (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, USA, Norway). As a performer, jury member and lecturer he regularly participates in the most important guitar festivals in the country and in the region. He teaches guitar in the rank of associate professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš.
